Reset your password using the Self Service Password Reset Server

Introduction:

The City of Santa Barbara has a Self-Service Password Reset Server (Thycotic Password Reset Server) which will allow you to unlock your domain account or reset your password 24 hours a day/7 days a week. 


 

Enrollment:

To use this service, you must first enroll your account with the Thycotic server.

1. In your web browser go to: https://reset.santabarbaraca.gov

2. Enter your domain user name and password and click Login.


3. After logging in, you will be asked to select and answer 3 security questions. If you prefer a different question, just click on the drop-down menu to select a different one. After you provide your answers to the security questions, you are done with the enrollment.

4. If you ever need to reset your password or unlock your account you will need to provide the answers to those same three questions.

 

Password Reset:


1. To reset your password, in a web browser go to: https://reset.santabarbaraca.gov

2. Click the Reset My Password link


3. Enter your User Name on the next page


4. Answer the three questions you selected during enrollment and you will be given the option to unlock your account and set a new password. Password must meet complexity requirements:

  • Password has a minimum of 8 characters
  • Password contains Upper and lowercase characters and a number

5. After setting your password can login to your computer using your new password.
